The resort
Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort sits on Dhigufinolhu island in South Malé Atoll, a 30-minute speedboat ride from Velana International Airport. Its 110 villas are a mix of beach and over water categories, from one-bedroom Sunrise and Sunset villas of 119 to 150 square metres, some with private pools, to two-bedroom family villas. Dining runs to ten outlets across three islands under the resort's All Inclusive Indulgence offer: on Dhigu itself there is Fushi Café for buffets, Sea Fire Salt for grills, Aqua for Italian food and pool drinks and The Yellow Fin Club for evening drinks (guests aged 18 and over), with in-villa dining around the clock. Guests aged 18 and over, and families with a dinner reservation, can also cross by pontoon to Anantara Veli's restaurants, and Gulhifushi Picnic Island is part of the same programme. The Anantara Spa has six over water treatment suites and two open-air salas, and the PADI 5-Star Aquafanatics dive centre runs excursions from the island. The short transfer and the choice of villa layouts make Dhigu an easy fit for families and for couples who want variety without a long journey.
