How we work

Editorial policy.

This page says who writes resortlife.travel, where the facts come from, what we will not publish, and how to have something corrected. It is here so you can judge the rest of the site.

We sell what we write about

Resort Life Travel is a destination management company. Read everything here knowing we have a commercial interest in the places we describe.

Facts come from the property

Villa sizes, restaurant counts and transfer modes come from each property's own published material and from the factsheets it sends us as a trading partner.

No contracted rates

Net rates and commercial terms belong in a quote, not on a public page. A price here is a published menu price or a tier, never a negotiated rate.

Tell us when we are wrong

One email is enough. We would rather correct a figure than defend it, and a corrected page says when it changed.

01

Who publishes this

resortlife.travel is published by Resort Life Travel, a destination management company based in Malé. We sell the travel we write about — the Maldives first, and a growing list of destinations beyond it — to travel agents through our trade desk and portal, and to guests directly. These guides exist because that is our business, and the disclosure matters more than any claim of independence: we are not a review site, and we are not neutral about the places we sell.

What that means in practice is that we are accountable for accuracy rather than impartiality. A resort we contract with gets the same factual treatment as one we do not, and nothing on this site is paid placement unless the page says so.

02

Where facts come from

Property facts — villa sizes and occupancies, restaurant and bar counts, transfer modes and journey times, spa and dive facilities — come from each property's own published material and from the factsheets, contracts and corrections it sends us as a trading partner.

Hotels correct their own listing directly. A property's staff can sign in to our extranet and change the facts about its villas, restaurants and facilities, and those corrections publish to the live page on save. Claims that need checking — an official star rating, the map pin, a sustainability certification — wait for our team instead.

Where a property's own page and our records disagree on a figure, we leave the figure out rather than pick one. A missing villa size is better than a confidently wrong one.

03

What we never publish

Contracted and net rates, markups and commercial terms. We are a trade business; those belong in a quote to a named agent, not on a public page. Where you see a figure it is a published menu or treatment price, a tier, or a property's own advertised rate — never a rate we negotiated.

Availability, prices and facilities change without notice, so anything here is planning information. Confirm with our team before you book.

04

Ratings and reviews

Star ratings and review scores shown beside a property are third-party aggregates, included for orientation. They are not our assessment of a resort, we do not write them, and we do not solicit them.

05

Where we use AI

We use it, and we check it. Our write-ups of individual villas and restaurants are drafted from facts extracted from that property's own page, then checked claim by claim against those same facts; a claim the source does not support is removed rather than published. Where a property's page gives us too little to say, the page carries the property's own description and no write-up of ours.

Our on-site assistant answers from the same catalogue. It is planning guidance, it can be wrong, and it is not a confirmation of availability or price.

06

How old a figure is

Every article shows the date it was published. We do not stamp individual figures, so a count, a journey time or a price band inside a guide carries no date of its own — read anything numeric on an older guide as true when it was published, and check it with us before it decides a booking.

07

Corrections

If something here is wrong, tell us and we will fix it. Email with the page address and what is wrong on it. We correct the page, update its date, and reply to tell you what changed.

Guides are written by our editorial team in Malé. Where an article carries a named author, that person is accountable for it; everything else is credited to Resortlife Editorial and the company stands behind it. Our terms and privacy notice cover the rest of how the site works.
