How much does a Maldives package cost from India for 2026?+
Per couple, 5 nights including flights from Mumbai/Delhi, seaplane or speedboat transfer, accommodation, most meals and basic activities: budget guesthouse-based ₹1,25,000–1,75,000, 4★ all-inclusive resort ₹3,00,000–4,50,000, 5★ overwater villa ₹5,50,000–8,50,000, and ultra-luxury private-island ₹10,00,000–22,00,000+. 7-night versions of each tier add roughly 30–40%. Dec 22–Jan 4 and Feb–Mar school-holiday weeks run 25–45% premium; mid-May through August offers 20–35% discount on the same product. Flights are the single biggest swing factor — peak-season Mumbai–Malé return can run ₹38,000–52,000 per head economy; shoulder season half that.
Which airlines fly direct to Maldives from India?+
IndiGo (6E) operates daily direct Mumbai (BOM) and Bengaluru (BLR) to Malé (MLE) — 4 hours from Mumbai, 3h 30m from Bengaluru. SpiceJet (SG) and Air India (AI) also run direct flights seasonally. From Delhi (DEL) direct service is intermittent — IndiGo runs it in peak season; off-season most Delhi itineraries route via Mumbai or Colombo on SriLankan. From Chennai / Kochi one-stop via Colombo is the standard. Seats sell out 90 days ahead over Diwali, Christmas and summer holidays — we hold inventory via corporate accounts and book 120+ days out for peak dates.
What is included in a Maldives package from India?+
Our packages bundle five components on a single Resortlife invoice in INR: (1) return flight from your Indian origin city on IndiGo, Air India, Emirates, Qatar or SriLankan, (2) airport-to-resort transfer — seaplane via Trans Maldivian Airways or Manta Air, speedboat, or domestic flight + launch depending on atoll, (3) resort accommodation in the villa category you choose (Beach, Overwater, Overwater with Pool), (4) meal plan (Bed & Breakfast, Half-Board, Full-Board, All-Inclusive, or Platinum All-Inclusive), and (5) applicable extras — honeymoon amenities, anniversary turndown, kids club passes, one hosted dinner, marine-biologist snorkel briefing. Not included: visa (free on arrival), travel insurance (optional, recommended), spa, scuba diving, private excursions, premium alcohol tiers above AI.
Do Indian passport-holders need a visa for Maldives?+
No. Indian passport-holders receive a free 30-day tourist visa on arrival at Velana International Airport. Requirements: passport valid for at least 6 months from date of entry, confirmed return ticket, confirmed hotel booking, and proof of sufficient funds (credit card is acceptable). From 2023 every visitor must file an IMUGA (Immigration Maldives) declaration online within 96 hours of travel — a free form, not a visa application. We file IMUGA on clients' behalf as part of the booking workflow and send the QR-coded approval to your phone.
Are TCS and GST applicable on Maldives packages from India?+
Yes. Since October 2023, the Liberalised Remittance Scheme imposes a 20% Tax Collected at Source on outbound travel expenditure above ₹7,00,000 per financial year per individual. TCS is collected at the time of payment and is fully adjustable against your income-tax liability — it is not an additional cost, it is a cashflow-timing issue (you recover it when you file your return). Below ₹7,00,000 per year the TCS is 5%. Resortlife issues a TCS Form 27D as proof of remittance. GST at 5% applies to the service component of the package (our commission / handling fee) — the resort stay itself is outside India and outside GST. Invoices break out the base fare, TCS and GST transparently.
Can you customise the package — different resorts, longer stay, multi-city?+
Yes. The sample packages on this page are starting points; every actual booking is composed to order. Most common customisations: (a) two-island hops combining a closer-in resort with a further-atoll resort for variety, (b) Dubai / Colombo / Singapore extensions on the same PNR, (c) private seaplane charter for a VIP arrival, (d) specific villa numbers facing the house reef or sunset bay, (e) vegetarian / Jain / Halal meal preferences written into the resort's dietary preference sheet ahead of arrival, (f) milestone celebrations — birthdays, anniversaries, proposals — pre-arranged with the resort GM. Send us the brief and we return a shortlist within 24 hours.
What is the best time to visit Maldives from India?+
December to April is the dry season — clearest skies, calmest seas, best underwater visibility. This overlaps most Indian school holidays and pushes prices 25–45% above shoulder rates. Within dry season, late January through mid-March is the sweet spot: post-New-Year price reset, school-holiday crowds have left, weather still perfect. May through October is the wet season — short afternoon showers, cheaper rates, excellent manta-and-whale-shark season especially in Baa Atoll (Hanifaru Bay is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve). November is a shoulder month: dry-season weather returning, pre-Christmas prices still attractive. For honeymoons we recommend late Feb–April or late Oct–Nov; for families, summer-holiday June–July if you can accept a 20% rain probability on any given afternoon.
How early should I book a Maldives package from India?+
For peak dates (Dec 20–Jan 5, Feb–Mar school holidays, Diwali week, May half-term) book 4–6 months ahead — flight seats and top-villa inventory disappear first on these dates. For shoulder season 8–12 weeks' notice is usually enough. Honeymoon specials and early-bird resort promotions typically give best value at 90–120 days; last-minute inventory is occasionally available via our contracted rates but selection is limited to whatever hasn't sold. Resortlife holds a 25% deposit to block availability; balance is due 60 days before arrival for standard bookings, 90 days for Christmas / New Year.
