Flights are the single biggest swing factor — peak-season Mumbai–Malé return can run ₹38,000–52,000 per head economy; shoulder season half that.

IndiGo (6E) operates daily direct Mumbai (BOM) and Bengaluru (BLR) to Malé (MLE) — 4 hours from Mumbai, 3h 30m from Bengaluru. SpiceJet (SG) and Air India (AI) also run direct flights seasonally. From Delhi (DEL) direct service is intermittent — IndiGo runs it in peak season; off-season most Delhi itineraries route via Mumbai or Colombo on SriLankan. From Chennai / Kochi one-stop via Colombo is the standard. No. Indian passport-holders receive a free 30-day tourist visa on arrival at Velana International Airport. Requirements: passport valid for at least 6 months from date of entry, confirmed return ticket, confirmed hotel booking, and proof of sufficient funds (credit card is acceptable). From 2023 every visitor must file an IMUGA (Immigration Maldives) declaration online within 96 hours of travel — a free form, not a visa application. We file IMUGA on clients' behalf as part of the booking workflow and send the QR-coded approval to your phone.

TCS is an India-side tax under the Liberalised Remittance Scheme, applied when money leaves India for overseas travel. It is collected by your Indian bank, card issuer or Indian travel operator depending on how you pay — not by the resort, and not by us in the Maldives. It is fully adjustable against your income-tax liability when you file your return, so treat it as a cashflow-timing item rather than an extra cost. Rates and thresholds have shifted with successive Union Budgets, so confirm the current position with your CA before paying. December to April is the dry season — clearest skies, calmest seas, best underwater visibility. This overlaps most Indian school holidays and pushes prices 25–45% above shoulder rates. Within dry season, late January through mid-March is the sweet spot: post-New-Year price reset, school-holiday crowds have left, weather still perfect. May through October is the wet season — short afternoon showers, cheaper rates, excellent manta-and-whale-shark season especially in Baa Atoll (Hanifaru Bay is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve). November is a shoulder month: dry-season weather returning, pre-Christmas prices still attractive. For honeymoons we recommend late Feb–April or late Oct–Nov; for families, summer-holiday June–July if you can accept a 20% rain probability on any given afternoon.

For peak dates (Dec 20–Jan 5, Feb–Mar school holidays, Diwali week, May half-term) book 4–6 months ahead — flight seats and top-villa inventory disappear first on these dates. For shoulder season 8–12 weeks' notice is usually enough. Honeymoon specials and early-bird resort promotions typically give best value at 90–120 days; last-minute inventory is occasionally available via our contracted rates but selection is limited to whatever hasn't sold. Resortlife holds a 25% deposit to block availability; balance is due 60 days before arrival for standard bookings, 90 days for Christmas / New Year.
