2026 Pricing · Updated April 2026

Maldives trip cost from India in 2026 — full INR breakdown by tier.

A Maldives trip from India costs ₹1,15,000–₹10,60,000 per couple in 2026 — ₹1.75 lakh for 7 nights in a guesthouse, ₹4.65 lakh at a 4★ all-inclusive resort, ₹10.6 lakh in a 5★ overwater villa — flights, transfers, meals and taxes included.

Most "Maldives cost from India" pages quote a single headline number and hide the rest. This guide does the opposite. We break down every rupee a 2026 Maldives trip actually costs from India — Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai — across three resort tiers and three trip lengths, in Indian rupees, with USD conversions shown transparently.

Resortlife Travel has operated as a Maldives DMC since 2006 and handles India-origin bookings directly from Malé. Prices below are pulled from live 2026 contracts, not aspirational marketing. All figures converted at ₹83.5 per USD for consistency — your quote confirms the exact rate.

Transfers

The line item Indian travellers forget.

Transfers are usually the single biggest "hidden" cost. Indian families booking a seaplane resort often discover the transfer alone adds ₹83,500-1,42,000 per couple before the first night's stay. Always quote transfers separately from the package headline price.

Indian passport holders get a 30-day visa on arrival at Velana International Airport. No application. No fee. No pre-approval. You need: a passport valid for 6+ months, confirmed return ticket, resort or hotel booking confirmation, and proof of funds. The visa is the most-misunderstood cost item in the India-Maldives market — there is zero fee, and there never has been.

Currency note

Why resorts bill in USD.

Maldivian resorts publish USD rack rates. We use ₹83.5 throughout this page for consistency — roughly the 2026 rolling average — and your quote confirms the exact conversion on booking day.

However you book, paying a USD price from India carries your bank's conversion — typically a 2-3.5% forex spread you do not see until the statement lands. The DMC saving comes from contracted net rates and bundled transfers, so compare the total trip cost, not just the nightly rate.

How we book

For Indian travellers — and what that actually means.

One booking, one invoice

Flights, transfers, resort and extras consolidated on a single Resortlife invoice — one deposit to confirm, one balance date, one team accountable for the whole trip.

On the ground since 2006

The Malé operations desk runs the trip end-to-end, with a direct WhatsApp line through the stay and IST-friendly hours — Malé is 30 minutes behind India. Not a reseller.

Transparent line-item quotes

Flight + transfer + resort + meal plan + green tax shown separately. No "package all-inclusive" opacity that hides seaplane surcharges.

Direct resort contracts

180+ properties under direct contract. Net rates leave real room in the price — we pass savings through rather than bank the margin.

Frequently asked

Maldives-from-India planning questions.

What's the cheapest time to visit Maldives from India?

May through September. Resort rates drop 30-45% and flights ex-BOM/BLR run ₹22,000-32,000 return. Trade-off: 1-2 hours of daily rain, slightly rougher seas for snorkelling, but excellent manta and whale-shark activity in Baa Atoll and South Ari MPA. April and October are the sweet spots — near-peak weather at shoulder pricing. Avoid mid-December to early January (Christmas/NY peak) if budget is a constraint; rates run 2-3× annual average.

Do Indians need a visa for Maldives?

No. Indian passport holders get a free 30-day visa on arrival. Requirements: passport valid 6+ months, confirmed return ticket, resort booking confirmation, and proof of funds. There is no application, no fee, no pre-approval. The "Maldives visa cost from India" confusion circulating online is misinformation — it has always been free for Indian nationals. The visa is stamped at Velana International Airport immigration with the resort voucher presented.

Can I pay in INR or must I pay in USD?

Maldivian resorts price and bill in USD, and our quotes are built from those USD contract rates — the INR figures on this page are comparison guides at ₹83.5/USD. Your quote confirms the exact conversion and the payment options available before you commit to anything. If you pay a foreign travel supplier from India, your bank or card issuer handles the conversion and any India-side taxes such as TCS — ask your CA how that applies to your payment method.

How far in advance should I book?

For peak season (November-March), 10-14 weeks ahead locks in the best resort + seaplane slot availability. Inside 4 weeks, peak fares spike ~35% and overwater villa inventory at desirable resorts is typically gone. Shoulder and green season are flexible — 4-6 weeks is fine. Booking windows matter more than you'd expect: seaplane resorts have fixed daily slot counts, and when they're full, they're full.

Is a Maldives trip worth it versus Bali or Thailand from India?

For equivalent-tier beach resorts, Maldives runs 2.5-3× the cost of Bali and 3-4× Phuket — primarily because of transfer costs (seaplanes, remote islands) and the one-island-one-resort model. You're paying for privacy and water clarity, not for more. If water visibility and seclusion don't matter to your trip, Maldives is poor value and Bali or Phuket will serve better. If they do matter — honeymoons, milestone trips, privacy from other tourists — nothing else in the region replicates the Maldives product.

What does "all-inclusive" actually cover in the Maldives?

Basic all-inclusive covers breakfast, lunch, dinner at the main buffet restaurant, and house-brand drinks (beer, wine, spirits, soft drinks) during listed hours. It typically excludes: premium spirits, à la carte specialty restaurants, excursions, spa, motorised water sports. "Premium AI" or "Platinum AI" plans add these. Always read the meal-plan inclusions line-by-line — the gap between basic and premium AI can be ₹40,000+ per couple per week.

Which is the best airline from India to Maldives?

IndiGo direct (BOM→MLE or BLR→MLE) is cheapest and fastest for most travellers — 3h 45m to 4h non-stop. SriLankan (via CMB) is the budget one-stop and lets you combine Sri Lanka on the same trip. Emirates (via DXB) and Qatar (via DOH) offer the best long-haul service from Delhi and are worth the 40-60% premium if you want lie-flat Business Class. Avoid routings with >8 hour layovers — they eat a full resort day and wipe out the value of a short stay.

What's the duty-free allowance on return to India?

Indian customs allows 2 litres of alcohol, 100 cigarettes, and goods up to ₹50,000 (₹15,000 if travelling under 10 days) duty-free on return. Maldives duty-free at MLE airport is limited and often overpriced — most travellers buy at Dubai or Doha on connecting routes, or at Indian arrival duty-free (Delhi T3 and BLR are generally cheaper than MLE). No limit on foreign currency up to USD 5,000 in cash or USD 10,000 including TCs; higher amounts require declaration.
