Maldives DMC · Mumbai office · since 2006
Maldives DMC for Indian travel agencies.
Resortlife Travel is a Maldives-based Destination Management Company serving Indian travel agencies and tour operators. Mumbai office handles account management in IST; Malé operations handles every in-destination issue. Direct resort contracts since 2006, INR invoicing with Form 27D TCS compliance, and commission structures that actually make Maldives a profitable line for your agency.
What Indian agencies get
Beyond a rate sheet.
INR invoicing (not USD)
No forex surcharge — your agency isn't charged the 3.5% markup that resort-direct USD bookings add to every Indian credit card. INR receipts are TCS-compliant and reconcile cleanly against ITR filings.
TCS 5% handled correctly
Overseas tour packages above ₹7 lakh trigger TCS. We collect and remit on your behalf; your agency gets a Form 27D certificate to pass to the client for ITR credit. Not an afterthought — baked into the invoice.
Direct-contracted net rates
Rates below what your client sees on Booking, Expedia, MakeMyTrip or the resort website. Marginless pass-through for agencies — your commission is the gap between our net and your sell.
Mumbai office (since 2019)
Dedicated India account manager in IST hours for quotes, rebookings, TCS clarifications. Resortlife-Maldives operations desk handles 24/7 in-destination issues.
20+ years' ground operations
DMC since 2006. Seaplane dispatcher on first-name terms with TMA + Manta Air reservations. Resort GSMs return our calls same-day. The relationship bench matters when a monsoon storm reshuffles 40 transfers.
Groups, MICE, weddings
10+ rooms to full-island buyouts, incentive programmes, destination weddings. Separate group desk from FIT; 30-90 day lead time typical. Growing category for Indian outbound — we've handled buyouts for Indian pharma, fintech, and family-business groups.

India market context
Why Maldives is a category-leading product for Indian agencies.
India is the Maldives' #1 source market — pre-2020 arrivals hit 200,000+ annually, and the market is now back above that. Proximity (4h direct from Bangalore or Mumbai), zero-fee visa on arrival, familiar cultural distance, and a luxury product tier that maps well to Indian HNW travel preferences have made Maldives the default "beach + honeymoon + milestone trip" destination for Indian outbound.
The opportunity for Indian agencies: ticket sizes run from ₹1.15L for a budget-tier couple's week to ₹14L+ for a luxury family trip. Commission margins are stronger than Bali or Thailand because the absolute spend is higher and the booking is more complex (seaplane, all-inclusive decoding, transfer timing). Agencies that sell Maldives well add it to the top of their outbound P&L; agencies that ignore it cede that revenue to direct-to-resort web traffic.
We exist to make Maldives-selling easier for Indian agencies. Net rates, TCS handling, consolidated itineraries, and an India-office relationship you can actually call.
Frequently asked
India agency questions.
What does 'Maldives DMC' mean for an Indian travel agency?
A Destination Management Company is the Maldives-based operator that holds direct contracts with resorts, arranges seaplane and speedboat transfers, and manages in-destination logistics. Indian agencies book through a DMC instead of resort-direct (or via a global wholesaler) because: (1) the DMC absorbs the USD-to-INR forex markup into a TCS-compliant INR invoice; (2) we sit in the Maldives so rebookings and disruptions are handled in local time; (3) direct-contract net rates are typically 10-20% below what your client would see on an OTA.
How do I get access to net rates?
Submit the agent application with your IATA, TAAI, ADTOI or OTOAI registration, operating markets, and approximate annual Maldives volume. Our commercial team reviews in 2 business days. Approved agencies get portal credentials, full net-rate sheets for 150+ resorts, a dedicated account manager in the Mumbai office, and live availability for seaplane-constrained resorts. We vet applications because resort contracts protect retail price floors; approved partners get inventory that is not accessible to consumers.
Do you handle TCS (Tax Collected at Source) correctly?
Yes. TCS 5% applies to overseas tour packages above ₹7 lakh per traveller per financial year (₹20 lakh threshold removed for overseas packages in Budget 2023). We collect the TCS, remit it to the government, and issue a Form 27D certificate to your agency — pass it to your client for ITR credit. This is built into our invoicing system, not bolted on. Agencies that try to handle TCS themselves on behalf of their clients usually end up misfiling — let us handle it.
How much commission can an Indian agency earn on Maldives bookings?
Typical gross margin is 8-15% on resort + transfer packages. Luxury bookings (Soneva Jani, Cheval Blanc, Waldorf Ithaafushi) often carry 12-18% because the absolute spend is higher. Group and wedding bookings carry override kickers — we share tiered commissions based on annual volume. The exact figures are in the agent portal; we don't publish them because they're competitive and because they vary by resort and season.
Which Indian cities have direct flights to Malé?
Direct IndiGo flights operate from Bangalore (BLR, 3h 45m) and Mumbai (BOM, 4h). Delhi (DEL) has 1-stop options via Mumbai on IndiGo, via Dubai on Emirates, or via Doha on Qatar Airways (6-9h total). Chennai (MAA) connects via Colombo on SriLankan (5h 30m). We manage flight routing as part of the package — agencies receive a single consolidated itinerary instead of handling segment-by-segment.
What if my client has a seaplane transfer on the day a storm cancels flights?
This is the core of what a DMC is for. Seaplane operations (TMA, Manta Air) are grounded during heavy weather and night hours. If a transfer is cancelled, our Malé team: (1) rebooks the client on the next available slot the same day if weather clears; (2) arranges airport-area hotel overnight if no seaplane departs that day; (3) coordinates with the resort to hold the villa and ensures meal-plan nights are credited. The agency is updated in real time via WhatsApp; the client is briefed on arrival at the seaplane lounge. Standard service, no extra cost.
Do you work with agencies outside India's major cities?
Yes. We have active relationships with agencies across India: Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Kochi, and smaller cities where local tour operators specialise in outbound luxury. Portal access and commission tiers are the same regardless of agency location. India account manager runs from Mumbai in IST.
How is Resortlife different from other Maldives DMCs selling to Indian agencies?
Three things: depth, infrastructure, and consistency. Depth — we have been operating in Maldives since 2006, have visited every resort we contract, and have ground staff who know the reservation teams by name. Infrastructure — Mumbai office staffed in IST, INR invoicing with Form 27D automation, white-label proposals, TCS handled correctly. Consistency — same account manager relationship across years, not rotating call-centre contacts. The other Indian-market Maldives DMCs are either resellers of our inventory, or newer operations without the contract depth.
