About Six Senses Laamu

Six Senses Laamu sits on the private island of Olhuveli in Laamu Atoll, deep in the southern Maldives, reached by a 65-minute seaplane from Velana International Airport. It is the only resort in Laamu Atoll, giving guests near-exclusive access to surrounding reefs and surf breaks. The 97 villas split between jungle settings on the island and overwater bungalows connected by wooden boardwalks, all fitted with outdoor rainfall showers, private terraces, Bose sound systems and satellite TV, with many offering private pools. Four dining venues — including Longitude for international cuisine and Zen for modern Kaiseki — draw ingredients from the on-island organic garden and local fishermen. The house reef delivers strong diving and snorkelling, while Ying Yangs, one of the country's more consistent surf breaks, sits adjacent to the island with additional breaks a short boat ride away. Rated 4.9 from 973 reviews, the resort is distinguished by a documented sustainability programme including marine conservation partnerships and the Maldives' first dolphin research centre.
