The Maldives in April: The hottest month — and the start of real value.

April is the transition month. The dry north-east monsoon is winding down, the air is at its warmest and most humid, and short tropical showers become more frequent — but the Maldives in April is still mostly sunny, and the sea is bath-warm.

Resortlife Travel is a Maldives DMC operating since 2006 — these are the conditions we plan real client trips around, month by month.

April prices · per night, for two

What the Maldives costs in April.

April pricing runs in two halves. The European Easter school holidays prop the first half up at close to high-season rates; once they pass, shoulder pricing arrives and value improves week by week. Late April is one of the calendar’s quiet bargains — near-dry-season weather at a real discount before the monsoon turns.

TierWhat that buysApr per night
Guesthouse · local islandBoutique guesthouse on Maafushi, Dhigurah or Ukulhas — public-ferry or shared-speedboat access$90–160
4★ resortPrivate-island beach villa, B&B — most sell all-inclusive-led packages$450–750
5★ resortOverwater or premium beach villa — speedboat or seaplane transfer$750–1,400
Ultra-luxurySoneva / Cheval Blanc / Velaa tier — top villa categories, butler service, seaplane$1,700–3,500

Per night for two sharing, bed & breakfast basis (guesthouses room-only or B&B), USD, taxes as bundled in rack rates. Transfers, the USD 6–12 per-adult-per-night green tax and festive supplements are extra. Bands reflect typical 2026 contract rates for shoulder season — individual resorts vary. Full trip budgets, flights included, are on our trip-cost guide.

All-inclusive in April

Most resorts price all-inclusive as a supplement of roughly USD 85–220 per person per night over bed & breakfast — 4★ islands at the lower end, 5★ at the upper. In April, budget about USD $700–1,200 per night for two on a 4★ all-inclusive plan. Around the Easter holidays all-inclusive packages sell out first at family-friendly resorts; from late April the low-season offers begin and the gap between half-board and all-inclusive pricing narrows.

The verdict

Should you book April?

April is the transition month. The dry north-east monsoon is winding down, the air is at its warmest and most humid, and short tropical showers become more frequent — but the Maldives in April is still mostly sunny, and the sea is bath-warm.

The real story of April is value. Once the European Easter holidays pass, rates step down into shoulder territory and availability opens up. Travellers who book the second half of April often get near-dry-season weather at a meaningful discount. It is also when the first manta rays return as the seasonal plankton blooms begin.
