Sun Siyam Olhuveli has launched a new coral restoration initiative, allowing visitors to actively participate in the preservation of the resort’s marine environment. Introduced on Earth Day at the property’s Dream Island, the Adopt A Coral Frame program invites guests to work alongside an on-site marine biologist to plant healthy coral fragments onto specialized frames. These structures are then submerged within the resort’s coral garden, where they serve as a foundation for new reef growth and underwater biodiversity.
Located in the South Malé Atoll, the resort emphasizes a connection between luxury travel and ecological stewardship. Participants who adopt a frame receive periodic updates, including photographic progress reports every six months, to track the development of their contribution. A portion of the proceeds from this program is directed toward Sun Siyam Care, the group’s broader sustainability platform, to bolster long-term reef conservation efforts and support the health of the local aquatic ecosystem.
