The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort observed Earth Day by hosting a series of immersive activities focused on environmental preservation and sustainable living. Located within the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, this luxury property utilized the occasion to demonstrate its ongoing commitment to ecological stewardship through both educational tours and hands-on conservation efforts. Guests participated in a behind-the-scenes sustainability briefing before planting Sea Lettuce and coconut trees, selected specifically for their ability to combat coastal erosion. The program also included a guided shoreline assessment to monitor lagoon health and remove debris from the island’s periphery.
The event concluded with the debut of a Garden to Plate dining experience. This multi-course dinner highlighted locally sourced ingredients, featuring dishes such as fresh tuna tartare and mushroom risotto served in an outdoor garden setting.
