Alila Kothaifaru Maldives is a five-star resort on its own island in Raa Atoll, about 45 minutes by seaplane from Velana International Airport. It is operated under the Hyatt-owned Alila brand and sits on a 27.6-acre (11.2-hectare) natural island with a surrounding house reef. The resort has 80 villas, all with private pools, split between 44 beachfront villas and 36 overwater villas, with contemporary interiors in natural materials. Dining is spread across three restaurants, including all-day Seasalt, and two bars, and the Spa Alila houses four double treatment suites with daily complimentary yoga. The resort's programme reflects Alila's understated-luxury positioning and includes dolphin cruises, snorkelling and diving on the Raa Atoll reefs, mixology, cooking classes and marine-discovery experiences aimed at guests seeking both activity and privacy. It suits couples, honeymooners and small groups who want an all-pool-villa resort in a quieter, less-travelled atoll with strong snorkelling on the doorstep, rather than the busier Malé-atoll properties.
