Alila Kothaifaru Maldives has been named Best Resort of the Year at the 2026 AHA Asia Hotel Awards. The accolade was presented during the awards ceremony held at Capella Bangkok, marking the programme’s inaugural expansion from its original focus on the Chinese market to a broader recognition of hospitality excellence across the Asian continent. The resort, situated in the Raa Atoll and known for its eco-conscious design and proximity to the Hanifaru Bay UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, was selected from a competitive field of regional properties.
This distinction highlights the resort's commitment to understated luxury and its integration with the natural tropical landscape. The award serves as a significant industry milestone for the property, following its recent inclusion in the 2026 TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice list. The recognition acknowledges the team's ongoing efforts to provide personalized service and meaningful guest experiences within their private villa sanctuary.
