Filitheyo Kandu is a marine-protected channel roughly 2 km wide on the eastern side of Faafu (North Nilandhe) Atoll, encompassing Filitheyo Thila, Filitheyo Outside and Dolphin Corner. Depths run from about 10 m on the thila to a 30 m drop-off, with strong tidal currents drawing grey reef sharks, eagle rays and large schooling fish. It is a current-dependent channel dive best for experienced divers. Visibility peaks during the northeast monsoon, December to April.
