Six Senses Kanuhura has been named the title sponsor for the 2026 Lhaviyani Turtle Festival, marking the resort’s third time supporting the initiative. The agreement was finalized on World Ocean Day, reflecting the property's ongoing dedication to the marine environment surrounding its Lhaviyani Atoll location. Known for its collection of sophisticated villas and overwater bungalows, the resort actively integrates conservation efforts into its operations by hosting a dedicated sea turtle biologist and contributing to local scientific research.
The upcoming eighth edition of the festival, scheduled for September 2026, is organized by the Naifaru Juvenile NGO and the Atoll Marine Conservation Centre. As the Maldives' largest community marine outreach program, the two-day event aims to unite students, conservationists, and government officials to promote the protection of sea turtles. The collaboration highlights a long-standing relationship between the resort and the conservation center, which has focused on the rescue and rehabilitation of injured turtles since 2012.
