Contemporary artist Yakov Khomich is set to host an exclusive residency at Finolhu from November 6 to 12, 2026. Known for an intuitive style that bridges reality and imagination, the France- and Russia-based painter will transform the resort’s Art Lab into an interactive creative studio. This initiative allows guests to engage directly with the artist’s process, which draws heavily on personal memory and cultural symbolism. Located within the Baa Atoll Biosphere Reserve, the resort frequently integrates such creative programming into its vibrant island atmosphere.
The residency begins with an introductory event during the resort’s signature White Party, followed by a schedule of complimentary workshops and private sessions. Participants are encouraged to explore their own artistic expression through experimentation rather than rigid technique. By offering these collaborative masterclasses, the program aims to move beyond traditional observation, inviting visitors to contribute to the evolving creative landscape of the island.
