Joy Island Maldives by The Cocoon Collection occupies Kassanfushi, a butterfly-shaped island in North Malé Atoll surrounded by a turquoise lagoon and a house reef along one edge. Transfers from Velana International Airport run either by speedboat in roughly 40 minutes or by seaplane for guests preferring the shorter flight option. The resort opened under the Italian-designed Cocoon Collection brand in 2023 and features 151 villas, split between 60 overwater villas with panoramic ocean views and 91 beach villas set back into the island's vegetation. Interiors are by Italian furniture house LAGO, with contemporary lines and colour accents that distinguish the brand's design language from typical Maldivian thatched villa styling. Three restaurants and one bar handle meals, with the option to stay on an all-inclusive programme covering food, beverages and activities.
