The resort
Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental stands on West Corniche Road in Abu Dhabi, a domed palace set in 85 hectares of landscaped grounds with 1.3 km of private beach. Built as a state guesthouse and still used for official occasions, it holds 390 rooms and suites, all with Arabian-inspired furnishings and a terrace or balcony looking over the gardens, the marina or the Gulf; the Palace and Royal Suites occupy the upper tiers with butler service. Facilities include a 1,500 sqm spa with a Moroccan hammam, two round-the-clock fitness centres, two resort pools, a water-sports centre, tennis and padel courts, over 6 km of jogging paths, the Kids Palace, and 7,000 sqm of meeting and event space including a 2,400-guest ballroom.
