Atlantis, The Palm occupies the apex of Palm Jumeirah's crescent and has been the island's landmark since it opened in 2008; the building is a pair of sandstone-pink wings joined by a tall central arch. It works as a destination resort rather than a hotel alone, with the Aquaventure waterpark, The Lost Chambers Aquarium and the Ambassador Lagoon on site, and Underwater Suites whose windows look into the lagoon. Restaurants include Nobu by the Beach, Gordon Ramsay's Bread Street Kitchen and the family-oriented Wavehouse.
