The resort
A tented camp hidden in the rainforest of Keliki village, on sloping ground that runs down to the sacred Wos River. Architect Bill Bensley conceived it as a tribute to the 1800s European expeditions that once crossed Bali, and the canvas walls are deliberate: guests hear the forest from dusk to dawn. Twenty-two one-bedroom tents and a single two-bedroom lodge each have their own pool, copper bathtub and outdoor deck, with Auriga Wellness set among three spa tents at the heart of the camp.

The camp's tented dining room, named for the 19th-century Danish spice trader Mads Johansen Lange. Kitchens work with vegetables, spices, herbs and poultry from neighbouring farms alongside seafood from regional waters.
A multicourse Asian-inspired dinner built around fire and seasonal local produce. The Wara open-fire technique burns surplus rice straw from nearby paddy fields, lending each dish a distinct smokiness.
