Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan occupies a bend of the Ayung River valley outside Ubud, entered across a long suspension footbridge that lands on the roof of the circular reception building, where an elliptical lotus pond sits above the lobby. Accommodation is a mix of suites and one-, two- and three-bedroom villas terraced down the valley wall, many with private pools, and finished with carved timber, locally sourced shell and ikat textiles in open-sided living areas facing the river and the surrounding rice terraces. The Sacred River Spa sits on the valley floor, and the resort builds its wellness retreats and cultural programme around Ubud.
