Diamonds Athuruga Maldives Resort & Spa occupies the full Athuruga island in South Ari Atoll, operated as an all-inclusive private-island property by the PlanHotel group. Transfers from Velana International Airport are by seaplane, with flights operated by Trans Maldivian Airways taking approximately 25 to 30 minutes. Accommodation consists of 46 Beach Bungalows with direct beach access, 21 Water Villas set over the lagoon, and 2 Two-Bedroom Water Villas, each with private terrace and steps or ladder into the house reef. All villas are fan-cooled and air-conditioned, with en-suite bathrooms, minibar, and a dedicated in-villa tea and coffee station. Dining is distributed across multiple outlets, including a main buffet restaurant, a beachfront grill, an over-water à la carte restaurant reserved for water-villa guests, and a bar at the island jetty. The all-inclusive plan covers meals, house-brand beverages, afternoon tea, and non-motorised watersports such as kayaking, windsurfing, catamaran sailing, and snorkelling gear. An on-site PADI dive centre operates daily reef and channel dives, including seasonal trips to South Ari whale-shark sites. A spa, tennis court, and fitness area round out the facilities. The house reef runs close to shore and is considered one of the more accessible snorkelling reefs in South Ari.
