Mulaku Kandu is a channel on the northeastern side of Meemu (Mulaku) Atoll, dotted with submerged pinnacles cloaked in soft coral. The channel narrows at around 25 m and the outer reef drops away abruptly to well over 100 m. Strong incoming and outgoing currents draw grey and whitetip reef sharks, giant trevally, large tuna and schooling barracuda, with hammerheads possible in the early morning; visibility is usually very good.
