JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa

The essence of the Bavarian Alps meets the pristine shores of the Shaviyani Atoll as JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa partners with Michelin-starred and Green Michelin-starred Chef Rico Birndt...

Michelin-starred chef Rico Birndt will debut his eco-conscious culinary philosophy at the JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa on October 24, 2026. Known for his work at Restaurant June in Bavaria, the chef holds both a Michelin Star and a Green Michelin Star for his commitment to zero-waste gastronomy and seasonal, fermentation-led techniques. This one-night residency at the resort’s treetop Kaashi restaurant will feature a six-course menu that highlights the synergy between his alpine expertise and the fresh produce harvested from the property’s own JW Garden.

The collaboration also includes an exclusive Marriott Bonvoy Moments package, offering a four-night stay from October 21 to 26, 2026. This immersive itinerary features a garden-to-table cooking class and a 10-course wine-pairing dinner at the resort’s RIHA beachfront venue. Located on the secluded Vagaru Island in the Shaviyani Atoll, the resort provides an idyllic backdrop for this intersection of sustainable fine dining and Maldivian luxury.
