Veligandu Maldives Resort Island occupies a 600-metre-long island in Rasdhoo Atoll and is reached by a 20-minute seaplane transfer from Velana International Airport, one of the shorter seaplane hops in the country. The resort operates 100 villas across Beach Villas, Jacuzzi Beach Villas, Water Villas, Jacuzzi Water Villas and Sunset Jacuzzi Water Villas; the water-villa categories are restricted to guests aged 12 and above, giving the property an adults-oriented feel in its overwater wing. Dining is handled across multiple restaurants and beach bars, with meal plans running from Bed and Breakfast through Half Board, Full Board and an All Inclusive package that covers à la carte venues alongside savings on water sports and diving. The resort's main draw is its dive programme: the Ocean Dive centre runs trips to 18 sites around Rasdhoo Atoll, with the nearby Madivaru Reef documented by the Maldives Environmental Protection Agency as one of the few dive sites where hammerhead sharks can be seen throughout the year, and a weekly early-morning dive to Hammerhead Point forms a signature excursion. Grey reef shark sightings peak in February.
