The resort
Set on the historic incense trade route between the desert plains and the Hijaz Mountains at Umluj, Six Senses Southern Dunes was the first resort to open within Saudi Arabia's Red Sea development. Its architecture takes cues from Nabataean heritage, with villa roofs shaped in double-layered undulations that echo the dunes around them. Interiors carry the tones and textures of the desert, and soft furnishings draw on the colours and patterns of traditional Bedouin tribal dress. The resort operates year-round across a spa, its dining venues and a programme of desert and Red Sea activity.
