The resort
NH Collection Maldives Havodda Resort is in Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll and has 120 villas, 60 on the beach and 60 over the water. Guests fly from Malé to Kaadedhdhoo, a journey the resort puts at under an hour, and continue by a 15-minute speedboat. The beach villas run from 95 square metres to pool villas of 121 square metres, and the over water categories include the Over Water Villa and the 153 square metre Over Water Pool Suite. Dining is at REEF for international food, SURF for grills, Pizza Kaage, Thari Bar and Iru Bar, with in-villa dining as well. The spa has four treatment villas and two treatment suites, and the resort has a dive centre, water sports and a kids' club. It suits couples and families who want a remote atoll and a large choice of villa types.

Set on stilts above the lagoon, this overwater villa opens onto a private terrace with sun loungers and steps descending straight into the water. Interiors centre on a king bed and a chic en suite, with both an al fresco sunken tub and indoor and outdoor showers. Floor-to-water living frames uninterrupted views across the Indian Ocean.

REEF is Havodda's all-day restaurant, with cooking stalls and an international menu from morning until night. An open-air pavilion and tables on the beach seat guests for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and dinner runs until about ten.
SURF is Havodda's barbecue grill. Guests choose prime meat or fish from the neighbouring island, grilled over charcoal. Lunch is in the early afternoon and dinner runs from seven until ten, and the restaurant is closed on Thursdays and Sundays.
Pizza Kaage is Havodda's poolside Italian kitchen. Pizzas come from the wood-fired oven from midday until six, and a wider à la carte menu runs from midday until ten, beside the pool.
Thari Bar at NH Collection Maldives Havodda is the poolside bar, with cocktails, light bites, and afternoon tea. Seating runs from a lounger by the pool to a cabana or a table in the shallows, and service runs from ten in the morning until midnight.
Iru Bar at NH Collection Maldives Havodda is a beach bar for sunset. Drinks and canapés are served from five until seven, with the evening sky over the island.
In-Villa Dining at NH Collection Maldives Havodda brings an international menu to the villa, including a breakfast that floats in the pool. The service runs around the clock.
