Milaidhoo Maldives marked World Ocean Day 2026 by hosting students, educators, and parents from the neighboring Kudarikilu School for a day of marine conservation education. Situated within the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Baa Atoll, the ultra-luxury resort utilized its unique surroundings to facilitate hands-on learning regarding the delicate ecosystems of the Maldives.
Led by the resort’s marine biology team, the group participated in interactive discussions concerning local biodiversity and the global threats facing marine environments. The educational program transitioned from theory to practice as students engaged in a guided snorkeling excursion on the house reef and assisted with active coral restoration efforts. By involving the local community in these sustainability initiatives, the resort aims to foster environmental stewardship among the next generation, highlighting the vital link between healthy reefs and the long-term security of the Maldivian way of life.
