Eri Maldives reimagines beach shack through a new takeover series.

At Eri Maldives, becoming begins with experiences that invite guests to see the island differently, and art has always offered one of the most powerful ways in.

Eri Maldives has launched a new artist takeover series at its Beach Shack, beginning with a mural project by Maldivian creator Ismail Maaish. The resort, which positions itself as a destination for discovery and transformation, invited the architect-turned-artist to transform the waterfront venue into a living canvas. Drawing inspiration from the vibrant marine life of the surrounding house reef, Maaish painted a playful octopus character—a nod to the resort’s signature villa welcome gift—amidst a colorful underwater scene.

This initiative is part of the KULA project, a program managed by Pulse Resorts that provides local artists with a platform to showcase their work and cultural heritage to an international audience. The Beach Shack takeover series is intended to be an ongoing endeavor, with future collaborations planned to invite various creative talents to reinterpret the space. By integrating local art into the guest experience, the resort aims to foster a deeper connection between visitors and the natural environment.
