The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands has announced that astronomer Tom Kerss will headline its 2026 Masters of Crafts programme during the Easter season. A former Royal Observatory Greenwich expert, Kerss will facilitate a range of educational experiences designed to leverage the resort’s unique vantage point, which allows for the observation of both northern and southern celestial bodies.
The residency features guided stargazing sessions, astrophotography tutorials for both professional cameras and smartphones, and informative lectures on lunar significance and major astronomical events. Activities will span land and sea, including boat-based excursions and beachside observations. A primary focus of the engagement involves the constellation Lepus the Hare, which will be highlighted through storytelling and thematic visual displays throughout the property. These academic sessions will be complemented by traditional holiday festivities, including gala dining, an Easter egg hunt, and a musical dinner event held under the night sky.
