The resort
The St. Regis Red Sea Resort sits on Ummahat Island in the Al Wajh Lagoon, part of Red Sea Global's destination on Saudi Arabia's north-western coast, reached by boat or seaplane from Red Sea International Airport. It opened in January 2024 as the first island resort at The Red Sea. Architect Kengo Kuma shaped its 90 villas, beachfront Dune Villas and overwater Coral Villas of one to four bedrooms, around timber, shade and open sightlines to the water, each with a private pool and sundeck. The resort has three restaurants, an outdoor pool, a signature spa, a fitness centre, a kids' club and a dive and watersports operation on the reef.

Middle Eastern cooking built on local ingredients, in a bright room that merges with its seaside aspect. Breakfast is served here every morning and dinner every evening; it is the resort's principal restaurant and the one that carries the inventive Arabian flavours of the region most directly.
Modern Japanese dining where live cooking and an exclusive omakase counter are framed by time-honoured ritual. Fresh local seafood carries much of the menu alongside the sushi standards. Dinner only, smart casual, and a table is worth reserving before arrival.
A grill house floating above the reef, serving an a la carte menu that works the finest locally grown produce alongside international ingredients. Formal dress, afternoon into the evening, and closed on Mondays and Wednesdays — the resort's most composed room and the setting for its sabrage ritual.
An outdoor sanctuary at the water's edge, open through the middle of the day for a globally inspired menu of light bites and grilled favourites, with infused lemonades to go with them. Beachside seating, casual dress, and the venue most guests drift to between the sea and the pool.
The brand's signature bar, here serving the Coral Mary — a Red Sea reading of the Bloody Mary built with dried black lime and specially picked algae, in handmade glassware — alongside elevated light bites. Skilled mixologists, live music and the evening rituals run from five until one.
