The Residence Maldives at Dhigurah occupies a private, uninhabited stretch of Dhigurah island in Gaafu Alifu Atoll (Huvadhu), one of the largest and deepest atolls in the world, and is not a guesthouse but a 5-star private-island resort. Transfer from Velana International Airport is by a roughly 55-minute domestic flight to Kooddoo, followed by a short speedboat to the resort, or by direct seaplane. The property has 173 villas across beach, lagoon and overwater categories, each with a private pool, and is linked by a 1 km bridge to its sister resort The Residence Maldives at Falhumaafushi, giving guests access to both islands' restaurants and bars. Dining spans nine restaurants and six bars across the two islands, including Cantonese cuisine at Li Bai and Mediterranean fare at Cafe del Sol, alongside a Spa by Clarins with overwater treatment pavilions, a fitness centre and a dive and watersports centre. The house reef fringing the island is the main draw for snorkellers and divers. It suits couples, honeymooners and families looking for all-inclusive private-island luxury in the far south rather than an authentic local-island experience.
