Pearl Sands of Maldives is a small guesthouse-style hotel on the northern tip of Huraa, a local island in North Malé Atoll (Kaafu). Transfer from Velana International Airport is by speedboat, typically around 20 to 30 minutes; the property's own speedboat is priced per person, and a cheaper public ferry also serves the island. The property has direct access to a private stretch of beach lined with loungers, steps from Huraa's designated Bikini Beach where swimwear is permitted. Rooms face the ocean and come with terraces, air conditioning and free Wi-Fi, and the on-site restaurant serves pasta and other international dishes alongside local options. Pearl Sands has its own dive centre, spa and watersports facilities on site, which is unusual for a local-island guesthouse and makes it easy to book snorkelling, diving and manta or dolphin trips through in-house operators rather than third parties. Huraa itself is a quiet village of around 600 to 1,000 residents with dive sites and surf breaks nearby in the eastern North Malé channels.
