Add https://resortlife.travel/api/mcp in a compatible assistant. Save the agency key in its secret settings with the Bearer authorization header.

Your agency’s approved tools and resort coverage determine what the assistant can use.

Connect your client.

Use a native or server-side MCP client that accepts a custom Authorization header. OAuth and connections directly from third-party browser pages are not supported by this release.

Store your key in the client’s secret settings. Every request, including the handshake and tool list, needs the header.

Set RESORTLIFE_MCP_KEY locally, then initialize:

Send notifications/initialized, then tools/list. Use the negotiated MCP-Protocol-Version header on subsequent requests.

Access for your agency.

Apply through the agency partner programme, or ask your existing Resortlife account manager.
We approve the tools, published properties and request limits for your agency.
Receive a private key, connect your client and renew the key before its 30-day expiry.

Access is reviewed manually. Keep credentials out of public collections and repositories. Rotation invalidates the previous key.

Directory evaluation

Directory maintainers can request a separate test profile: up to five selected public resorts, four discovery tools, 10 requests per minute and 200 per UTC day. It does not share a customer’s agency identity.

Agency limits depend on the grant. The standard administrative defaults are 30 requests per minute and 1,000 per UTC day. Handshakes and tool discovery count towards the budget.

When a request needs attention.

401 · Key required: Check the Bearer header. The key may be missing, expired or revoked; ask your account manager for renewal.
403 · Access restricted: Check the approved tools and agency status. Use a native or server-side client.
429 · Request limit: Follow the Retry-After header before trying again.
503 · Try shortly: Access verification or the catalogue is temporarily unavailable.

A tool response with isError: true explains an invocation problem. Check the arguments and resolve the property name again before retrying.

GET /api/mcp returns 405 because this endpoint does not provide a server-initiated event stream. Connect using your client’s Streamable HTTP transport.
