Villa Buruni Beach is a small Maldivian-run guesthouse on Buruni, an inhabited local island in Thaa Atoll roughly 180 kilometres south of Malé. The property is a 2023 addition to the Villa Buruni family of accommodation on the island and consists of around ten beachfront bungalows arranged on the south side of Buruni, facing Raagondi beach, with the main restaurant and common areas set slightly further inland among private gardens. Each bungalow accommodates two to four people, typically via one double bed plus one or two single beds. Buruni is home to a community of roughly 400 residents and has a school, mosques, a health centre, mini-markets, a pharmacy, a small gym, a recreation centre and football and volleyball grounds, so the guesthouse sits inside a functioning village rather than on a dedicated tourism island. Excursions offered by the guesthouse include half-day trips to uninhabited picnic islands about twenty minutes away, reef snorkelling and seasonal outings to swim with manta rays and whale sharks. The island is not primarily a tourism destination, and Villa Buruni operates as the main guesthouse presence catering to visitors seeking a local-island stay in Thaa.
