Nova Maldives will host a three-day event from July 17 to 19, 2026, to commemorate Women’s Dive Day. The initiative features PADI Course Director Zoona Naseem, the first Maldivian woman to achieve this certification, and the resort’s resident marine biologist, Jenna Lehocki. Located within the South Ari Marine Protected Area, the resort aims to address gender disparities in professional diving by fostering an inclusive environment for both guests and members of the local Dhangethi community.
The program includes guided scuba sessions and open-water explorations designed for all experience levels. Participants will also engage in fireside discussions led by Naseem and Lehocki, focusing on marine conservation and personal experiences within the industry. By facilitating these interactions, the resort intends to encourage more women to pursue diving and professional marine roles, highlighting the importance of accessibility and representation in a traditionally male-dominated field.
