Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru and Dhawa Ihuru observed Earth Hour 2026 by hosting a day dedicated to marine conservation and environmental education. The resorts, located in the North Malé Atoll, welcomed students and teachers from Malé’s Ahmadhiyya School for an immersive program focused on sustainable operations and the preservation of local ecosystems. Guided by the resort’s marine biologist, the visiting group participated in a workshop at the Marine Lab, where they learned about reef health and engaged in coral micro-fragmentation to support ongoing regeneration efforts.
As the event transitioned into the evening, the properties dimmed their lights for one hour to honor the global initiative. Guests and staff gathered on the beach for a commemorative display featuring fire-lit signage, marking a collective moment of reflection on environmental stewardship. These activities align with the Banyan Group’s broader commitment to regenerative travel and the protection of the natural heritage surrounding their luxury villa properties.
