Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) has been awarded the Indian Ocean’s Leading Seaplane Operator for the 7th consecutive year and the World’s Leading Seaplane Operator of 2020 by the World Travel Awards 2020 for the 6th consecutive year.

Since its inception in 1989, TMA represents a synonym for connecting the Maldives islands. It is the oldest air services operator in the Maldives and has grown to become the largest seaplane operator in the world.
TMA operates its own seaplane terminal at Velana International Airport with several resort lounges and other amenities. They transport about 1 million passengers by year. Further to this, TMA is considered to be the backbone of tourism infrastructure in the country and has always played a significant role in enhancing and facilitating the growth of the tourism industry in the Maldives.
This year, Maldives has also made history by being crowned the most distinguished award of all - the World’s Leading Destination 2020. These awards are truly a testament to the love for us, and the hard work carried out by everyone involved.
